"SANDY'S FANCY FACECLOTH" (edging) designed by Anna Rembiszewski
Anna has given her permission to have her facecloth pattern at
this web site.

Materials:
Size 1 steel hook OR any size hook you prefer (size 1 hook will
give a dainty, lacy effect) Size 10 / Bedspread weight cotton thread
Washcloth - new or old

Notes: To make the first stitch push the hook through the cloth
just under the serged edge, YO, pull thread through hole just
made, YO, pull thread through two loops on hook. Make next sc
in same manner right next to previous sc, continue with sc all
the way around the washcloth. The closer the sc are the fuller
the ruffle will be.

Directions:
RND 1: Sc around the washcloth keeping the stitches equally
spaced around (it is NOT really important that you have an
exactly equal amount on each side) at end of this rnd join
with sl st.

RND 2: Ch 1, sc in same st, *Ch 4, sc in next sc* around. Join
with sl st.

RND 3: Sl st in the first ch space, *ch 4, sc in next loop* around.
Finish off and weave in the tail.

Note: For wider ruffle repeat Rnd 3 as desired.

Place some small scented soaps in center of washcloth, bring
up the four corners and tie with narrow satin ribbon.

Some occasions for giving these washcloths are; wedding shower
gifts, (done on baby washcloths) baby shower gifts, young girls
just turning the corner to teenager.

Model crocheted by Becky R. and worked on a baby washcloth.
