CLUSTER STITCH SCRUNCHIE

Makes a very full scrunchie

Materials: Knit-Cro-Sheen
           Size 6 steel crochet hook
           Large elastic-covered ponytail holder -
           such as Goody Brand

CLUSTER STITCH - to work Cluster, ch 3, YO, insert hook
           in third chain from hook, YO and pull
           up a loop, YO and draw through 2 loops
           on hook, YO, insert in same ch, YO and
           pull up a loop, YO and draw through 2
           loops on hook, YOU and draw through all
           3 loops on hook.

DOUBLE
CLUSTER STITCH - To work double Cluster, ch 3, * (YO, insert
           hook in third chain from hook, YO and pull
           up a loop, YO and draw through 2 loops on
           hook) twice, YO and draw through all 3
            loops on hook *, ch 3, repeat from * to *
           once.

Foundation Round: Join thread with sl st around band, ch 1,
           sc around band until you have 80 sc.
           Join with st st to first sc.
RND 1: Ch 1, sc in joining, (ch 1, sc) around.
           Join with sl st to first sc.

RND 2: Sl st in first ch 1 sp, ch 1, sc, ch 2, (sc in
           next ch 1 sp, ch 2) around. Join with sl st to
            first sc.

RND 3: Sl st in first ch 2 sp, ch1, sc, work Cluster,
           (sc in next ch 2 sp, work Cluster) around.
           Join with sl st to first sc.

RND 4: Sl st in first 2 chs of cluster on RND 3, ch 1,
           sc, work Double Cluster, (sc in next ch 3 loop,
           work Double Cluster) around. Join with st st to
           first sc. Fasten off.

Variation 1: End on RND 3
Variation 2: Repeat RND 3 desired times
Variation 3: Repeat RND 3 twice, then do RND 4
Variation 4: Skip RND 3, repeat RND 4 desired times
Variation 5: Repeat RND 4 twice
Variation 6: Thread 80 4mm pearl beads on before starting
           to crochet and attach a bead between double
           clusters on RND 4.
Variation 7: Less sc on foundation round for less fullness.
