Materials For One - Size 10/bedspread weight cotton; Small amount of yellow for corn kernals, small amount of green for corn husk Size 30; Small amount of cream for corn silk tassel Number 6 steel crochet hook 3" piece of cardboard Gauge - isn't really very important; bookmark can be a bit larger or smaller, without changing the overall outcome. Notes: Weave in loose end as work progresses. For SHELL, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-2 sp. Center - with yellow size 10 thread Row 1: Ch 6, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 3, (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in ring, turn (1 shell). (Note: The following rows are where the bookmark can be lengthened or shortened by working additional rows or leaving a few rows out.) Rows 2-18: Ch 3, shell in ch sp of next shell, dc in top of last ch-3, turn. At end of last row, DO NOT turn, fasten off. Edging - with green size 10 thread Rnd 1: Working around the outer edge, join green thread with sl st in ch sp of last shell made on Center, ch 4, 6 tr, 1 dtr, ch 2, 1 dtr, 7 tr in same sp, 4 sc in end of each row around to row 1, 16 tr in ch-6 ring on row 1, 4 sc in end of each row around, join with sl st in top of ch-4, DO NOT turn. Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in joining, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off. Tassel (Corn Silk) - with cream size 30 Wrap around 3" cardboard 12 times, cut at one end. Insert hook from back to front in ch 2 sp at top, fold strands in half, draw strands through at fold, draw loose ends through fold, tighten, trim ends evenly.
